Podcasting Certification Class

This class teaches attendees how to use our podcasting kits, which are available for rent. The class covers kit set-up, importing and exporting of audio as well as best practices for a successful podcast. The cost of the class is $25. Membership and Orientation are prerequisites. Radio (and video) PSA's for Non-Profits

Access with conducting this training class in partnership with NorCan. Learn how to include audio and video PSA creation as part of your workflow. Take your print or email blast and turn it into a radio spot, TV or cross-platform-ready PSA. Techniques apply low-cost or no-cost applications that run on any PC (or Mac) and will have you creating content in minutes. Class includes tips on messaging, voice-over tips, basic audio recording and editing as well as simple graphic video creation. Contact NorCan for registration information.

Media Lab

Media Lab is free and open to studio certified members. It's a chance to hone your studio talents, learn new ones and participate in a real TV production. Every other month on "Community Voices" - we will interview representatives of a non-profit, showcase a musical talent or give an otherwise under-heard voice - a chance to shine.

Basic Studio Certification

Register now for Access Humboldt Studio Certification class. Once you've completed the training, certification will allow you to reserve studio space and produce content for the channels in our in-house Hi-Def production facility at the Community Media Center. Learn how to operate our high-definition studio and control room (switcher, mixer, lights, cameras, roles, and more).

The cost for the class is $40 per student, and the only prerequisite is that you be a member in good standing that has completed Orientation.  read more »

This four-hour course teaches participants the proper use and handling of the basic field video equipment available for check out from AH, as well as familiarizing them with proper check-out policies and procedures.
Available equipment include HD cameras, a variety of microphones (hand-held, lavaliere & shotgun), tripods, cables, and more.  read more »
