JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

- Position: Office Manager for Access Humboldt
- Location: On-site at Community Media Center (Eureka); off-site field work
- Status: part-time (0.75 FTE; 30 hrs/wk)
- Compensation: $17.00 – 20.00 per hour (doe), sick + annual leave (no medical)

The Position
The Office Manager leads administrative functions and supports efforts across the organization to manage and develop sustainable operations. Works with colleagues to grow the capacity and reach of the organization, including marketing, volunteer engagement, fund development, and media policy advocacy. This position reports to the Executive Director and requires frequent use of tact, discretion, and initiative. Responsibilities require regular contact with government officials, public school personnel and student body, representatives of business, community organizations, and the public.

The Office Manager is responsible for organizing and working with teams to complete specific projects as assigned. Focus of efforts will include transparent governance, outreach activities, and fund development efforts - such as underwriting/sponsorships, social enterprise and other earned income activities, grant writing and direct appeals for donations. The Office Manager supports teams across the organization that manage facility operations, produce digital media content, implement archiving and distribution capabilities, develop and enforce programming policies and procedures, design and offer training programs, and support other efforts of the organization.

Skills and Experience
The Office Manager must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience with a majority of the following abilities, tasks, and processes:

Nonprofit administrative skills;
Work cooperatively with members of the public, staff and Board of Directors;
Manage archive and filing system for all administrative material [Excel/database programs];
Prioritize work tasks, stay organized, and manage time effectively;
Bookkeeping, accounting, budgeting and basic accounting principles [Quickbooks];
Agenda setting, recording minutes and maintaining public records of meetings;
Maturity, ethics, good public image, and ability to deal and interact well with professionals in nonprofit, governmental and educational settings;
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and contract obligations;
Support for the mission, philosophy and programs of Access Humboldt;
Produce marketing and promotional materials;
Grant writing, editing and reporting;
Work with sensitivity and without discrimination towards peoples of diverse cultures, races/ethnicity, socio-economic positions, ages, religions, genders, physical/mental challenges/disabilities, and sexual orientations;
Communicate well and function effectively on a team;
Video/sound production techniques for documentary, narrative or community events coverage;
Working, interning, or volunteering at a community media center; and,
Learn and improve to meet the needs of the organization.

Other Desirable Qualifications
Ability to communicate in languages other than English
