Congressman Jared Huffman (CA-North Coast) introduced legislation to advance universal access to broadband networks for rural communities across the nation.
[Revised Friday February 3, 2017 to reflect revisions in draft bill.]
In a statement released Wednesday February 1st, Sean McLaughlin said:
"Access Humboldt applauds Representative Huffman's leadership and tireless efforts to advance the cause for universal access to broadband networks. Just like the historic efforts to ensure universal access to electricity, the current push for broadband access and deployment needs to fill gaps in our remote rural communities. We are encouraged by the New Deal Rural Broadband Act of 2017 and hope that the measure finds traction for 'Breaking Ground on Rural Broadband' among his colleagues on both sides of the aisle."
